To be yourself, what does that mean? is it following the next trend? is it wearing the stylish shoes of the year? is it being so different , that people call you weird. Being yourself can take a lot given that the society we live in can be harsh and judgmental. As a kid I’ve always had this thing where being my self was “fitting” in with the crowed. As I got older I realized that speaking loudly all the time and being aggressive was not my self it was me trying to belong with a group whom thought it was cool to bully and make fun of people . I know now that being my self is being able to smile and lend a hand to those in need without a return. It’s being myself is dressing how I want to with a care in the world being myself I learned to be COMFORTABLE, WITH NOT ONLY WHO I AM BUT THE SKIN IM IN.

To be kissed by the sun,
we women are blessed to come in so many beautiful shapes and sizes, from our golden gram warm skin to the fluorescents in our hair. How the birds sings when we speak , how the sun opens up its warmth when we walk.
Are we not the stars ling the sky? Are we not that diamond in the rough? Are we not the that beautiful pearl being rubbed and worn by that itchy scratchy sand paper that could not break make or reshape us. That rose that grew from concreate, when no one thought could grow, would grew , how those thorns came poking threw. we are that phenomenal women no longer chained to a cage we are free , free enough to be what ever we want to be. I see you doctor , I see you lawyer, I see you teacher , I see you mom, I see you sister, but most importantly I see you Queen! what are you? who are you? who will you be ? your more than your enemies means , your more than perfect you are Melanin Perfect!
